Handspun Friday - Insect Wings

The fiber for this yarn is hand dyed Bluefaced Leicester from the Hello Yarn fiber club. The fiber club was a three month commitment and this was the first installment. I did order a double size portion for each of the shipments and I'm really glad I did.

I ended up turning the ten ounces of fiber into just under 600 yards of yarn, so I should be able to knit something nice. Though I'm not sure what I'll knit. I'd guess that the yarn is somewhere between a DK and worsted weight.

I think I will spend this weekend seaming up my sweater and starting my shawl with the Noro sock yarn. The pattern finally came yesterday.

Wow what a beautiful color! You will look terrific in that yarn. The fiber itself is so vibrant. Your spinning is excellent.

OM(freakin')G!
That may be the most spectacular yarn I have seen in a LONG time. I am begining to think I am getting jaded; I am hard pressed to find a yarn that impresses me lately. Now I just want to cry because I can't whip out my plastic and snatch up a couple of skeins of its fabulousness.
As for your comment, "so I should be able to knit something nice" I think it is just as lovely as is. I might find a lovely (snag free) wooden bowl and just display it in its lovely state for all to enjoy -like a coffee table book - before rushing into anything.
Happy knitting,
Bee

It's so bright and happy-looking, and the yarn is so beautiful... I'm drooling just looking at it. I bet it's soft and squishy too.
